Day 50, One of those rare, gorgeous sunny days that make sitting
outside bearable...but still not being on a chain!
Day 50, October 8, 2010.
Operation Fido's Freedom.
Escaping the Chain
I got lucky today and got to 'escape' my chain. I know that the dogs don't typically get to do this…but every once in awhile, even they break free and run amok, sometimes without good consequences. Let's pretend I was one of the ones who just get to enjoy their freedom for awhile before being slapped back on that chain.
In my case I got off my chain at noon to attend an Air Force reunion in Texas that I committed to prior to knowing how long my chaining would go on or even IF it would go on at all.
I was majorly excited about my weekend of freedom from not only the horrendous daily grind of living on this chain, but also the weekend grind of catching up on work I missed all through the week when I was chained.
I felt really and truly FREE for the first time in a long time! I treasured that feeling.
I was faced with shutting down early, but supporters Deb Smith and Ginger Cayo stepped up to cover my hours, and Deb took the house home with her to bring it back to me Monday. See, dogs, there ARE many other people out there who feel strongly about your freedom, and we are all working for you.
Big thanks to Deb and Ginger.

Magnum Chain Art Word of the Day: Crave, from Julie Henderson, for 'all the things the dogs want but don't get on the chain.'

Deb Smith sitting in for the first shift.

Ginger Cayo takes the second shift.

Gordon and Cricket come for a visit. She's so cute, she's like the dog in the cartoon version of the Grinch, except for smaller and furrier...but her little face looks like that.

Please contact them TODAY and tell them “I’m here for their law.”
Remember, they work FOR us. Insist that they support SB1435.
I will be actively blogging, facebooking, and tweeting daily from my chain.
