Why Did You Buy Me?

Why did you buy me and bring me home?
Why did you buy me and then leave me alone?
You tie me out in the yard without water or a bone.
So why did you buy me?

I'm a dog I know
But you brought me into your home.
I depend on you for food, water, and company.
I get nothing as far as I can see.
So why did you buy me?

I ask you if you're only going to tie me to a tree.
Please don't buy me.
Give me a chance to have a good family.
One that will feed me.
One that will play with me and walk me.
One that will love me.

So before you buy that cute puppy.
Think of all the responsibility.
If you don't have the capability
To commit a lifetime to me.
Please don't buy me.
