Barney Rubble, above, with foster mom Heather, on his bed with his gift certificate to a local pet store, and then chewing on his rawhide. They've now adopted Barney, so he has a wonderful new home!

Luke, above, with foster dad Mike, on his bed with his gift certificate to a local pet store and his gifts from the Beagle Brothers Bakery, and carrying his rawhide around.

From Brad Pitt: "We went to the petstore to buy me some new toys. I got balls, nyla bones - bacon flavor, one of those funny bone ropes, and a raincoat like Alex and Oliver have, and a brand new shiny waterbowl. Karina is attaching a couple of pictures of me enjoying my new toys. I don't mind sharing with Alex, but Oliver - he's the little white thing in the picture - he always wants to steel the very toy I'm playing with. Can you believe that? Karina made him behave though for a little while, you know, just for the pictures. Thank You Very Much! Karina even has a little left over for the next vet visit in two weeks."

Above is Pete featured with some of his gifts: Ceramic food bowl painted with dogs; Kuranda dog bed; American Flag Bandanna; a singing dog (he thinks is his new best pal) and a red collar and matching leash! Also, he is being treated for heartworm infestation and is very greatful to his kind and generous sponsors for assisting him to get better!

Above is Chuck shown with his toys, leash, new bed, and treats!

Holiday 2004 Program Photos

These are the available photos so far. Check back for more as they are sent in.
(foster parents, please get photos in asap...)

Thanks to all of you, we collected enough money to give each fostered formerly chained or penned dog in our program at least $165 in gifts and toys and beds and treats! Plus, cover the medical expenses of the dogs who needed help!

Below and to the side, you'll see doggy photos, above is a montage of Bridget opening gifts which were mailed by the Radowicks and Tracy Roksvaag. She was adorable! She had injured herself a few weeks before trying to climb over a gate, and so had stitches and an e-collar on, which was on it's last legs from her running into everything (she's a blind Akita). By the time she was done ripping into her toys, the e-collar was gone too! She had so much fun. The other dogs helped too...and last she is on her new bed with her kong and new collar and leash from her sponsors.

Please know how grateful we are that you made this program a success, for the dogs and for all of us to know the true Spirit of the Season...giving to those who need our help.

In the True Spirit of the Season, our foster dogs in turn gave to another of their own who needed their help. We got word about Francesco...his was an incredibly sad tale, and he needed surgery to save his life, after living chained for 10 years in deplorable conditions. All of the sponsored dogs wanted to make sure Francesco had a chance at even one good year of life, and so they each gave up $50 of their toy money to get him surgery. Plus DDB kicked in an additional $250. So as a group, sponsor dogs (thanks to your generosity) and DDB, we sent the hospital $1000 for Francesco's surgery!

This is Francesco, after his first surgery. The latest from Linda on the second surgery, no cancer! " I received a call from Dr. Turek at Angell that Francesco's spleen tumor is not cancerous. That is wonderful news for him! He is doing fine and is getting back to his playful self."

And on January 7th, 2005: "Good news for Francesco. We noticed he was not urinating much through his catheter, and guess what? He was urinating on his own. I called his doctor at Angell who said the tumor must be shrinking and allowing the urine to pass! He goes up on the 13th for stiches removal. I will give an update after the 13th. Thanks to all for all your kindness and support."

Buddy, above, with foster Mom Lynne, by his own special tree with all his doggie gifts and toys. He also had vet bills for heartworm treatments that were covered by your generosity.

Teddy, above, with foster Mom Mary, and some of his fellow companions at his foster home. Teddy got a new bed, new collar and leash, rawhides, a kong with peanut butter filling (as you can see, he liked that!), two bags of biscuits, and toys.

Elly, above, shown with her new bed (although she prefers the old couch!), her joint medicine, and her toys and rawhides. She is most interested in the rawhide, but Susanna reports she is happily running around since starting her Cosequine.

Blackie, above, shown with his new bed, toys, and treats.

Thanks so much to all of you who sponsored gifts
for the formerly chained and penned dogs!
