Subject: Casanova
I am sending you this e-mail to keep you up-to-date as to the status of Casanova's acclimation
to his new home. Casanova has proven to be a wonderful puppy who is very playful and loving.
Casanova is already fetching, sitting, and walking on a leash properly. Additionally, Casanova
is nearly housebroken - except for the occasional accident. Amanda and I have taken him to the
park multiple times, introduced him to our families, and introduced him to my sister's and
friend's dog. Casanova is very friendly to other dogs and has yet to show any form of aggression
whatsoever.
Casanova is a typical Labrador puppy in that he has bundles of energy. Amanda and I now have an
unspoken rule that we spend, at least, an hour every day playing fetch with Casanova, allow
Casanova to play hide and seek with Amanda's little brother Mikey, this is always very cute, or
take Casanova to the park for a long walk. Whatever the method, Casanova is usually very
tuckered out by the end of the day.
In conclusion, Casanova is a wonderful dog and Amanda or I have absolutely no regrets about
accepting him into our home. Granted, he is not perfect - he's a puppy; he is still learning.
However, Casanova is learning quickly and has proven time and time again to be a loving,
playful, intelligent and an extremely loyal addition to our family and we love him totally and
completely.
With all of our hearts, Amanda and I thank you for the tireless work and endless hours you have
devoted to the well-being of dogs. But, more specifically, we thank you for all the work you put
in to saving this one dog - Casanova. I truly believe is extremely happy in our home and I know
we are extremely happy having him in our home.
Thank you Renee, and thank you DDB!

Subject: Thank you for Bre!
We just wanted to say " Thanks" again for caring about the dogs. We adopted Bre in March 2005 and he's still a wonderful dog. He has had a great life with us and our extended pet family of 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 tortoises. We go camping at the beach, mountain and lakes with the dogs. They think our camper is just a big dog house.
He sleeps in our bedroom and goes in and out of the house as he likes. We have a fenced yard. He also enjoys his daily walks around the neighborhood. We have a 9 yr old son, so the dogs and cats double as his siblings. Bre's having a wonderful life for a wonderful dog. (He's a cockerspaniel mix old name was Fraggle.) Best Wishes to you and all you help.

Subject: Our Dog Silva
Silva was adopted by us after her mother, with her and her sister, was left on a chain outside of Terrace, BC.
After a probably terrifying flight to Vancouver, she quietly rode home with us, and quickly settled into her new bed. Instantly she was part of the family, and has claimed our home as hers. She has had a few firsts the last few weeks, first time on the beach at a weekend getaway, and her ongoing obedience and socializing training.
Silva is a very intelligent dog, learning quickly, sometimes a little distracted and stubborn, but quickly getting the hang of her day to day routine, walks, playtime, sleep, and eat. We just need to work on her liking car rides better. Next week she has her little surgery to complete her role in a pawsitive society. My wife and I are extremely happy that we were able to change her life for the better, as she has changed ours.

Subject: Mac
Although at the start we thought 'what have we done by taking on a puppy!', we quickly fell in love with this little goof and after lots of dedication and training classes he's really come a long way and is definitely part of the family. Mac is now 6 months old and loves to play, constantly with anything and everything. Some things about Mac...
Likes:
-Dogs, any dog. EVERYBODY is his playmate (even if they don't want to be)
-Long walks in the forest (allows for the consumption of dirt and moss)
-empty coffee cups (he loves to carry them- not sure why)
Accomplishments:
-Diploma in puppy school
- Shaking a paw
- Leave it and drop it
- Sitting for dinner and treats
-He has also just graduated to having the full run of the house when he is home alone!
Among all the hard work, having a rescue dog feels good and is extremely rewarding. I feel very lucky to have found our little man and he's becoming a very socialized, well adjusted, and well mannered dog. Darn cute too :0)

Subject: Our Adopted American Bulldog
We adopted Darla through Deana Whitfield as her mom was a chained American Bulldog that had gotten pregnant.
We have had her for a month and a half now and she is growing like a weed and doing great. Our family has 3 young kids who all adore her. We named her Darla after the Little Rascals as she has a brown patch over one eye. She is so smart and loves to cuddle and play with all of us. She has started puppy training and we are working on sit, stay, heel. She eats like a horse and loves to chase balls. She has a wonderful temperament and we are so glad she is part of our family. We have attached a few pictures.

Subject: Sonny's sixth birthday party
Here is a picture from Sonny's 6th Birthday party. I cannot believe we have had him four years already! Best four years of our lives.
He is happy and healthy and totally loves his brother Sebastian. They are two peas in a pod.
Thanks for the gift of Sonny!"

Subject: Welcome to the Dogs Deserve Better Family
Thanks for the info bulletin. Here is a picture of Ebbie (Ebony). We are back in Salt Spring after a holiday with family in
Vancouver. On Sunday she had her first run an a beach at WhiteRock and
went charging into a large tidal pool after a couple of ducks who flew away
and Ebbie happily swam out. When our local lake warms up a bit she will be
in every day, I think. She has gone from about ten pounds to about thirty.
