Have
a Heart for Chained Dogs Week, Additional Notes, Participants, Photos

MORE WONDERFUL excerpts:
Carrie
Nutter, Illinois: "I work as an occupational therapist,
so the children were able to incorporate an array of skills while
participating in a fun project. The idea caught on with other groups,
too. Two classrooms of children with Autism elected to participate,
in addition to student council members and participants of a girl's
club. The awareness of the importance of the human-animal bonds
keeps increasing as many staff members were very receptive..."
Audrey Woerter, New York: "A bunch of ladies
here at work spent a lot of lunch hours and evenings working at
home at their dinner tables putting together such great Valentines
for your program. We have vowed to get together next year too!"

Sydney Holliday, Tennessee: "These Valentines
are made by the PAWS club. They are all students who love and want
to help homeless and abused animals. They loved the goal of this
project and were so glad you are helping the chained dogs in the
U.S.!"
Pam
and Aimee Boyle, Kentucky: "Enclosed are Valentines
made by third and fourth grade classes. Through the Kenton County
Animal Shelter, we volunteer at local schools "teaching kids
to care". The Have a Heart for Chained Dogs program fit well
into our program, and while the kids made their Valentines, we talked
about caring for dogs."

Brenda
Trojanoski, Connecticut: "We are a 4-H group that
loves dogs. We get together at least once a month to train our dogs
and learn how to help them live happier lives. We all think it's
mean and cruel to chain up your dog, and we think it shouldn't happen.
Each Valentine was hand made by us, and begs with the dog's owners
to bring their dogs in. We know you will pass along these Valentines
to the dogs who need them most."
Christine
Tempfer, Ohio: "I am an eigth grade teacher, and appreciate
all the work your organization does for dogs who are sentenced to
a life of despair at the end of a chain. The students were all moved,
and did their best to make a card for people who keep their dogs
under such conditions. I hope they make a difference, even if for
only 1 dog."
Dona
Tubb, Mandy Holliday, Mary Howard Logel, North Carolina:
"We are a group of 4th and 5th grade girls who participate
in an after school program that combines running and character development
skills. Our girls selected to make Valentines for your Have a Heart
for Chained Dogs Week as one of our community service projects.
We hope they help!"

Sue
Bianco, Oregon: "The OASIS Program was proud to participate.
OASIS is an alternative education program for sophomores, juniors,
and seniors. While working toward completing our high school education,
we also are involved in community service, and we understand the
importance and health benefits of having a pet."
Melanie
Poindexter, Nevada: "My husband is a life science
teacher for 6th grade. After telling his classes about your campaign,
the kids jumped all in to help. Speaking for my husband, his students,
and myself, we plan to get Nevada off the 'do nothing' list!"

Some
Students from Drea's Class, New Jersey
Drea
De Luca, New Jersey: "My class is a 5th grade honors
class, and we learned a lot. This is our second year participating,
and I look forward to next year. I hope these will be helpful in
reaching your goal!"
Lauren,
Pennsylvania: "Hi, my name is Lauren. I'm sorry, but
I don't know anyone with chained or penned dogs....which is a good
thing! So if you can still send them to another dog, I'd be very
grateful. I worked hard on them. I absolutely love dogs!"
