MORE WONDERFUL excerpts:
From
Chasity Knierem, Tennessee: "These Valentine cards are courtesy
of Sandy Card's second grade class...She
didn't hesitate for one second when I asked her if she might
work on some Valentines for DDB. I think her students had a lot of fun too."
From Mrs. Schindler, Illinois: "Enclosed are 13 Valentines
created by my students for the Have a Heart campaign. Our class
really enjoyed learning about your program and hope
our work makes a difference in the lives of these dogs."

From
Dossy McMahon, Georgia: "I am enclosing Valentines and coupons.
I live in Fulton County, Georgia, and we have an ordinance here
against chaining. I now plan to contact all county commissioners
of counties that do not have an ordinance in place here in Georgia."
From
Valerie Maurer, Michigan: "I
sponsor an animal rescue club for kids called Cub Kongo and Kayla.
We had fun making Valentines to help spready your message. Visit
our website at www.kongoandkayla.com."

From
Sharon and Laura Sienaski, Missouri: "We loved helping with this project while we watched
the Super Bowl. Thank you for all you do for these dogs. God Bless
You."

From
Peggy Rydberg, Georgia: "I
am a figure skating coach in Atlanta, Georgia and invited my skaters
to my house for a Valentine party and to make cards for your wonderful
cause. We had kids here from 4 years to 13 years old. This
is my 4th year having my students over to make cards!"
From
Alyssa Key, Pennsylvania: "On behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters
of Blair County we would like you to accept these Doggie Valentines
made by our students. We hope that these cards will help the caretakers
of chained dogs to fully understand what they are doing to their
loving friends. These cards truly came from
the children's hearts and we hope that you enjoy them as much as
they did making them."

From
Jessica Martin, Pennsylvania: "We
hope you will find our Valentines helpful in your campaign. My
first grade class read Buddy Unchained and talked about proper
pet care."
From
Nicci Ahrens, Illinois: "Cornerstone
Services is a non profit organization which provides progressive,
comprehensive services for people with disabilities, promoting
choice, dignity, and the opportunity to live and work in the community.
We would like to donate these Valentines
in hope to save a dog's life. We made Valentines for you last year, and are very excited
to support you again this year."

From
Erika Talerico, New Jersey: "Thank you for giving my first grade students at the
Martha B. Day School the opportunity to make Valentines for the
abused dogs. The students learned about how to take care of a dog
the proper way and what some people actually do to their pets.
It was a wonderful learning experience for
the students and they
enjoyed creating the Valentine's Day cards for a super cause."
From
Linda Reinhardt, Florida: "WAGS
says hello! We are honored to again send you some Valentines for
you to send to those who need to unchain their dog. The members
of WAGS are excited to help out. Our school's webmaster put it
on our web page for all to see. Thank you
for allowing the WAGS members to think beyond themselves and our
immediate community."
From
Melissa Reed, New York: "We have collected money, coupons, and Valentines while
also handing out your brochures to the many customers that come
to our facility for boarding, doggy daycare, and training lessons.
I am the Director of Training here at boom Towne Canine Center,
and if you have dogs that need help in my area, I
would be willing to donate some time to help with training."
From
Michelle Hiles, California: "I
teach kindergarten at Mount S. Mary Academy. When I received your
e-mail about needing Valentines, I knew I would have my class and
other students help make them."
From
Jacqueline Patterson, California: "I
couldn't agree with you more! These Valentines are in memory of
my beloved best friend and companion of 15 years, Sierra, who passed
away in October."
From
Fran and Jared Maristch, New Jersey: "It is with great pride I forward to you Valentines
made by the 5th grade class at Berlin Community School. These kids
did an awesome job. Also enclosed are cards my son Jared and I
made on our own. We sure hope these make a difference for some
very deserving furry friends out there!"
From Valerie
Belt, California:"Once again I did my
DDB lesson with the 4th grade students who are in my friend's
class. They had read the book Shiloh and we discussed the
issue of animal cruelty and chained dogs. Enclosed are the
Valentines they made a few days later, after having the opportunity
to come up with their own sayings. Each
student truly got into the spirit of the project, and they
were more than willing to create Valentines in the hope of
freeing those dogs who continue to live chained."
From
Meredith Lamm, Pennsylvania: "I
feel that part of my job as an educator is to 'turn out' the best
possible young people, so I do not only teach music but manners,
respect for all creatures, etc. Animals come high on the priority
list."
